Myth-Making at Maverick
Joe Boyd, legendary producer and author of WHITE BICYLES, his memoir of making music in the sixties and beyond, will present a special screening of Murray Lerner‘s film of the Newport Festival when Dylan went electric. Joe was at the sound desk on that fateful day and will be on hand to answer questions about the show.

BJ COLE JOINS LINEUP
BJ Cole played at the first Maverick Festival with Devon Sproule and has made several return visits since. This year he presents his acclaimed steel guitar workshop and then takes to the stage with Canadian troubadour Dennis Ellsworth for his show in the Peacock Cafe.

THE RAGGED STRING BAND
Festival favourites the Ragged String Band have become something of a tradition at Maverick events over the years and this year, they will join the programme on Saturday night.
FLYING BURRITOS‘ IAN DUNLOP
Ian will play a few tunes and discuss his life on the road with Gram as well as his latest book “Breakfast in Nudie Suits“. Ian is also an accomplished artist and will we be displaying some of his work in the Gallery.
OLD MAN LUEDECKE
OLD MAN LUEDECKE will perform on Saturday at this years festival with the mandolin player Joel E Hunt.
MINDY SMITH ADDED
Mindy has won a legion of fans ever since her performance of the Dolly Parton classic JOLENE shot her to stardom.
CLUBHOUSE IN THE HOUSE!
Clubhouse Records will present a revue of their finest artists on Friday night July 5th in the Peacock Cafe as part of this year‘s festival, including REDLANDS PALOMINO COMPANY, CASE HARDIN, THE CEDARS, TROUBADOUR ROSE, MAD STARING EYES, and PAUL McCLURE

“Troubadour Blues“ is a feature-length documentary that visits the fascinating world of traveling singer-songwriters. We see them in a variety of situations across America: impromptu performances, concert stages, formal and informal interviews and songwriting sessions and we explore the hidden corners of our culture, where honest, authentic songs that reflect the human experience are still being made up and sung.

We are sorry to report that Elizabeth McGovern and her band, Sadie & The Hotheads, will not be able to join us again this year because of unexpected conflict with Elizabeth‘s filming schedule.
A Taste of New Orleans
We are pleased to welcome the New Orleans based singer/songwriter Grayson Capps to open our new acoustic stage in the Moonshine Bar on Saturday night.

HANK IS BACK!

THE KING OF ROCK, SOUL & COUNTRY?
In October last year, the world lost one of the great pioneers of popular music. Solomon Burke, the king of rock and soul, argued that he did a country record before Ray Charles. Judge for yourself when we screen the rarely seen BBC documentary that charts his rise from wonder boy preacher to Grammy-winning member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Comedian Rich Hall will be joining the Maverick Festival lineup this year. Best known for his appearances on Live at the Apollo, and panel shows like QI and Have I Got News for You, Rich will make a rare appearance in the guise of his notorious uncle, the country singer and ex-convict Otis Lee Crenshaw.
Three girls from the Pacific Islands bring us their unique blend of Scottish, Celtic and Pacific sounds.
As well as performing together, virtuoso ukulele player Kim Halliday will lead a workshop in this fascinating and ever-popular instrument so bring your ukes along!
